New International Airport of Mexico City

The project for the New International Airport of Mexico City (NAICM), to be built in the Federal Zone of Texcoco, to 14 kilometers from the center of Mexico City and 10 kilometers from the current airport, the area is located within the federal zone belonging to the territory of the municipalities of Texcoco, Atenco and Ecatepec.
It will be built on an area of 4,430 hectares.

In its first phase (2020) will have:

1 Terminal of 743,000 m2 with capacity for 68 million passengers
540,500 operations per year
Control tower
3 simultaneous tracks

At its maximum capacity (2060):

120 million passengers
6 tracks








Antonov An-225



The Antonov An-225 Mriya ("dream" in Ukrainian) is a strategic aircraft designed and manufactured by Antónov in the Soviet Union during the 1980s. It is considered the largest aircraft in the world, it is also the heaviest aircraft in history with 640 tons MTOW.

AIRBUS A380

It is a tetra reactor aircraft manufactured by the European company Airbus, is the largest commercial aircraft in the world, has a maximum capacity of 853 passengers. It has a length of almost 73 meters and 24 meters of height, its structure is formed by 40% of carbon fiber and other modern metallic materials. The A380 in its commercial version has a flight range of 14,800 kilometers, with a cruising speed of 900 km / h.
 






5 Interesting facts of the aviation in Mexico.

1. The earliest antecedent of the aeronautical history in the country takes us to Mexico city, where the first ascent by the Frenchman Eugene G. Robertson, on February 14th, 1835 and the first by a Mexican was by Benito León Acosta, on April 3rd, 1842.



2. The first president that flew was Francisco I. Madero on November 30th, 1911 for 11 minutes on the plains of Balbuena in a Deperdussin that flew Geo M. Dyott.


3. The first airport was the Balbuena National Aerodrome which operated since 1915 with military use.


4. On July 12th, 1921, the Mexican Air Transportation Company (CMTA) was founded in Mexico city, which until August 28th, 2010 operated as "Mexicana de Aviación", being the third oldest airline in the world After KLM and Avianca.


5. The first civil airport was built where the AICM is now located in 1928 and began to serve in February 1929.

TODAY IN HISTORY
